Home to approximately 600 vibrant students from transitional kindergarten (TK) through sixth grade, we proudly host both primary and upper-grade Special Day Classes. At Harada, we celebrate our beautifully diverse student population. Every single day, our dedicated teachers and motivated students partner together to unlock high levels of learning and achievement for every child.

At Harada, our Hornets CARE.
CARE stands for Choose kindness, Actively listen, Respect & Respond, and Embrace safety.
- Our teachers have been busy teaching students what CARE looks like across different settings in our school. As a part of this initiative, students can earn CARE points from staff whenever they demostrate these core valuse by choosing kindness, actively listening, respecting and responding, and embracing safety.
- Your child may receive a CARE point for demonstrating any of these positive behaviors at any given moment. We encourage you to talk with your child at home about how they are living up to the CARE expectations at Harada.

Welcome Back Harada Families,
The Harada Elementary staff has kicked off the 2026-2027 school year! We have been working diligently in preparation for the first day of school and it's finally here. Your child's teacher has prepared a spot for them in their classroom and has welcomed them in. Please note, it is challenging to make class adjustments at this time. We consider parent input that is completed prior to the first day of school when are able to create balanced class lists. Thank for your understanding.
We look forward to seeing all the Harada families on Back to School Night! This event is a great opportunity to visit the classroom, meet the teacher, and become more familiar with the building if you are new to the school.

Welcome Harada Elementary Families!
I am so thrilled to welcome all of our wonderful students and families back to school!
For those who don't know me yet, my name is Mr. Luke, and I am incredibly excited to be returning for my second year as your Vice Principal. Last year was amazing, but I just know this year is going to be even better as we continue to learn, grow, and achieve great things together.
We have so much in store for our students, and the energy around campus is already fantastic. Let’s make it a wonderful year, Hornets!

Riverside Unified School District’s (RUSD) three Student Board Members for the 2026-27 school year took the Oath of Office at the RUSD Board of Education meeting on Aug. 27.

🏫 Keeping Harada Safe & Secure
Peace of mind allows for great learning. We protect our Harada campus through proactive safety measures, including:

🚔Partnership with RUSD and Local Law Enforcement : Modern security measures, comprehensive emergency preparedness plans, and routine safety exercises.

📝 Preparedness Drills : Regular, age-appropriate drills so students and staff are confident and prepared for any situation.

📑 Volunteer Screening : Verified background checks for all campus volunteers using advanced screening technology.
-
🚪 Controlled Access : All campus gates remain locked during school hours, with mandatory check-ins via the Raptor system (bring identification) in the front office.

As required by State Law (Penal Code 627.2, Education Code 32211) and RUSD Policy/Rules and Regulations (BP/RR 1250 and 3515), ALL visitors/outsiders are required to register in the office upon entering the school premises during school hours (7:30-4:30). This requirement includes parents, guardians, RUSD staff not assigned to the school, public employees, volunteers, media, public officials, and all other outsiders/visitors requesting to visit the school.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
In order to register, an outsider shall, upon request, furnish the principal or designee with the following information: (Penal Code 627.3)
a. His/her name, address, and occupation
b. His/her age, if less than 21
c. His/her purpose for entering school grounds
d. Proof of identify
e. Other information consistent with the provisions of law
